Talks between the United States and Iran held in Islamabad have concluded without any breakthrough. However, both sides have agreed to continue discussions in an effort to end the ongoing conflict in West Asia. After the meeting, US Vice President JD Vance said that no agreement had been reached with Iran during the marathon talks, despite the US presenting its final and best offer.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that the United States failed to gain Iran’s trust during the talks. In a post on X, Ghalibaf stated that prior to the US-Iran talks in Islamabad, he had emphasized that Iran possessed the necessary goodwill and willingness, but due to the experience of the two wars, it had no trust in the opposing side.
He added, “My colleagues in the Iranian delegation put forward forward-looking initiatives, but the opposing side ultimately failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of negotiations.”
