Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal met with Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Togbay, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
I conveyed our profound condolences to the Government and people of Nepal over the tragic loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the recent floods. I shared that the grief of the Nepalese people is shared by the people of Bhutan and felt with particular depth by His Majesty The King.l. Togbay said after the meeting.
He said : ,I reaffirmed Bhutan’s solidarity with Nepal during this difficult time and extended my best wishes for the recovery and rebuilding of the affected communities.
Minister Khanal conveyed his appreciation to His Majesty The King and the Royal Government of Bhutan for the generous support extended immediately following the floods, which was deeply appreciated by the Government and people of Nepal, he said.
We also agreed to explore opportunities to further deepen our bilateral relationship, including through expanded cooperation in trade, aviation, and other areas of mutual interest, he added.
