Minister for Foreign Affairs Bala Nanda Sharma is attending the state funeral of former Prime Minister and Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party Begum Khaleda Zia, and pay last respects on the behalf of Nepal government and people.
The Foreign Minister’s visit reflects Nepal’s deep respect for the late leader’s contributions to strengthening Nepal–Bangladesh relations during her three tenures as Prime Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement.
During the visit, Minister Sharma will be accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the statement. The Foreign Minister is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on 01 January 2026.
