South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to Visit India

President of the Republic of Korea (ROK), Lee Jae Myung, will pay a State Visit to India from April 19 to 21, 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This will be his first official visit to India.

President Lee will be accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials, and business leaders.

During the visit, President Lee is scheduled to hold wide-ranging discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including shipbuilding, trade and investment, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, critical and emerging technologies, as well as people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch in honour of the visiting President.

President Lee will also meet President Droupadi Murmu, who will host a banquet in his honour. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will also call on the visiting dignitary during the visit.

India and the Republic of Korea share a multifaceted partnership rooted in long-standing civilizational ties and shared democratic values and commitment to the rule of law. The forthcoming visit is expected to further deepen existing areas of cooperation while expanding engagement in emerging sectors of mutual interest.
