NHRC Submits Report on Gen-Z Movement Investigation

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has received an investigation report on alleged human rights violations during the Gen-Z movement.

A committee formed by the Commission submitted the report to Chairperson Tapa Bahadur Magar on Friday. The committee, led by NHRC member Dr. Lily Thapa, was tasked with investigating incidents that occurred during the protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24.

According to the NHRC, the report focuses on potential human rights violations during the demonstrations. The Commission is expected to review and discuss the findings in an upcoming meeting

Meanwhile, the government had also formed a separate inquiry commission under the leadership of Gauri Bahadur Karki to examine the same events. That commission submitted its report to the government on Falgun 24.

Although the Cabinet has received the report, it has yet to be made public.
