Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that there is no possibility of the party holding its general convention before the March 5 elections.
Earlier, the party had decided to organize the general convention in the second week of January. However, due to a lack of preparations, party leaders now say it is not possible to conduct the convention as scheduled.
Speaking with a group of journalists, Deuba completely ruled out the possibility of holding the convention before the elections.
Meanwhile, party General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have said that they are ready to convene a special general convention, as demanded by 54 convention representatives.
