Kathmandu District Court Extends Custody for KP Sharma Oli and Ramesh Lekhak

KP Sharma Oli Arrested

KATHMANDU – The Kathmandu District Court has authorized the Nepal Police to detain former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak for an additional five days.

According to Information Officer Deepak Kumar Shrestha, a bench presided over by Judge Jagat Bahadur Poudel approved the extension on Sunday.

“The court has granted permission to extend their custody for five days, effective from Chaitra 21, to facilitate further investigation and complete all necessary legal procedures,” the court order states.

While investigators have already recorded statements from both individuals regarding a homicide-related offense, the court granted the extension to allow authorities more time to gather evidence and finalize the remaining investigative requirements.
