In the past six months, more than 590,000 Nepalis have gone abroad for foreign employment.
According to data from the Department of Foreign Employment, 514,350 men and 76,368 women received labor permits. Among them, 196,042 people obtained re-entry labor permits.
A total of 64,262 people went abroad for employment with individual labor permits, while 325,407 people went through manpower companies.
Similarly, 4,866 people went to Israel, South Korea, and the United Kingdom through the government-to-government (G2G) process. During this six-month period, the department stated that 141 Nepalis working abroad without proper documentation were legalized.
