KATHMANDU — Right Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Balendra Shah is set to lead Nepal’s delegation to the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. Prime Minister Shah will depart for the United States on September 22, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to address the General Debate of the Assembly on September 24. On the sidelines of the event, the Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Mr. António Guterres.
Honorable Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Shisir Khanal will leave ahead of the main delegation on September 20 to participate in several high-level meetings, side events, and ministerial engagements, as well as bilateral discussions with international counterparts.
The official Nepali delegation includes Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Mr. Kumar Byanjankar, Foreign Secretary Mr. Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other senior officials from the Government of Nepal.
Prime Minister Shah and his delegation are scheduled to return to Kathmandu on September 26, 2026.
