Will establish a new mechanism to accommodate Zen-Z: PM Karki

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has announced that the government will establish a new mechanism to ensure the meaningful participation of Gen-Z youth in the country’s policy-making process.

In a video message marking one month since the start of the Gen-Z protests, Prime Minister Karki called for calm and an end to the ongoing cycle of violence.

“We need mutual harmony and national unity to turn this tragic event into a foundation for building a new Nepal,” she said.

Acknowledging the concerns of the youth, Karki added, “We must all humbly accept our weaknesses and mistakes. We are committed to the change that the younger generation is demanding, and we are moving forward on a new path. For this, young people must remain aware and engaged, and political parties must also commit to reform.”

She expressed hope that both the current government and the one that will follow after the elections will take concrete steps to fulfill the aspirations of the youth and build a prosperous Nepal.
