CPN-UML, the second-largest party in the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR), has decided to file a case at the Supreme Court demanding the restoration of Parliament.
A meeting of the party’s members from the dissolved HoR made this decision. Speaking at the meeting, party Chairman KP Sharma Oli stated that since the election is not going to take place, restoring the House is the only way out of the current political and constitutional crisis.
This is the first time that a prominent political party has decided to file a case at the court opposing the dissolution of Parliament by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
Earlier, more than a dozen cases had already been filed at the Supreme Court, and preliminary hearings have begun.
