NC decides to hold party convention in January

After a month of intra-party tussle, Nepali Congress, the largest party in the dissolved House of Representative(HoR) has decided to convene its general convention on January 10-12.

With this, the intra-party dispute now has been resolved which allows the party to focus on March 5 elections. Earlier, there was dispute between establishment faction led by Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and rival leaders about the convention. The establishment faction was in favor holding the convention after six months but general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Biso Prakash Sharma were in favor of before the elections. With this the possible risks of party split have been avoided. NC has a lengthy process of selecting the convention representatives from grass-root level.
