It Might Take 10 Days to Form a New Government

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has emerged as the largest party in the House of Representatives of Nepal (HoR), has said that forming a new government may take around 10 more days.

After the party’s meeting, spokesperson Manish Jha said that the party’s first priority is to submit the list of proportional representation (PR) candidates. “Our first priority is to submit the list of proportional representation candidates, so we will finalize it today,” he told journalists.

When asked about the formation of the government, Jha said that some practical and constitutional procedures still need to be completed. Because of this, it could take about 10 days for the new government to be formed.

The Election Commission Nepal has yet to publish the final election results. Once the results are officially submitted, the process will pave the way for RSP to elect Balendra Shah as the parliamentary party leader.
