Nepal’s import of electric vehicles grew by 15 percent in the 2024-25 fiscal year ending in mid-July, the Department of Customs said on Tuesday. The South Asian country imported 13,578 electric four-wheelers worth 31.76 billion Nepali rupees (230 million U.S. dollars) in 2024-25, as against 11,701 in 2023-24, the department said in its annual report. Of the total imports, 75.2 percent came from China, with the rest from India, Germany, the United States and other countries. In addition to the four-wheelers, Nepal also imported 16,505 electric three-wheelers, of which 6,777 were unassembled, the report noted. Xinhua
