Oli Warns of Action Against UML Members Seeking His Removal

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has declared that activities aimed at removing the party chairman under the guise of party restructuring will be treated as criminal acts and will no longer be tolerated.

Addressing secretariat members of the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Valley Special, and Contact Coordination provinces virtually on Tuesday, Oli warned that while actions taken prior to the party’s third full Central Committee meeting have been forgiven, anyone violating party policy and discipline going forward will face strict disciplinary action.

“It was said that ‘restructuring’ meant removing the chairman. This is criminal activity. All these actions prior to the Central Committee meeting have been pardoned, but going forward, there will be no forgiveness,” Oli said.

Directing party members to focus on election preparations, he stated that the party would not participate in any unauthorized representative council meetings. Oli emphasized that growing internal anarchy and indiscipline would no longer be accepted, marking the recent Central Committee meeting as a firm “cutoff date.” He added that strict measures will be taken against anyone who violates party discipline, spreads disorder, or makes statements that benefit political opponents.

He instructed party leaders to advance two primary tasks: the “restoration of democracy” and preparations for the upcoming local elections in Baisakh. He assured members that the UML would focus on securing an election victory while reorganizing inactive sister organizations.

“The party will decide when to focus on which of these two tasks. We will focus on the elections, and we will win. The sister organizations are currently defunct, but they will now be reorganized,” Oli said.
