RSP working to finalize the cabinet

The RSP is preparing to form a new government under the leadership of Balendra Shah, with plans to establish a streamlined cabinet comprising 15 to 18 ministries—down from the current 24. Senior party leaders are in the final stages of selecting ministers.

Shah is set to take the oath of office on Thursday, and a smaller cabinet is expected to be announced the same day.

In line with its election manifesto commitment to limit the number of ministries to 18, party leaders say efforts are being made to keep the cabinet within that range. Swarnim Wagle is likely to be appointed as finance minister, while Shishir Khanal is expected to take on the role of foreign affairs minister.
