Kathmandu: China has congratulated Nepal on the successful completion of voting for the House of Representatives elections, saying the process was conducted steadily and as scheduled.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said China welcomes the smooth conduct of the elections and extended congratulations to Nepal.
“China congratulates Nepal on concluding the voting for the House of Representatives elections steadily and as scheduled,” Mao said.
She noted that China values its long-standing relations with Nepal and described the two countries as traditionally friendly neighbors.
“The two countries have given each other support in their efforts to safeguard independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” the spokesperson said.
Mao added that China is ready to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with Nepal.
“China stands ready to work with Nepal to continue advancing the strategic partnership of cooperation featuring everlasting friendship for development and prosperity,” she said.
