The 7th meeting of Joint Steering Committee (JSC) on Nepal-Bangladesh Cooperation in Power Sector was held today in Dhaka.
During the meeting, the two sides deliberated on matters such as expansion of bilateral power trade, encouraging private sector investment in hydropower projects in Nepal and enhancing cross-border power transmission lines.
While the Nepali delegation was led by Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Chiranjeevi Chataut, the Bangladesh side was led by Secretary of Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Farzana Mamtaz. The Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting was held yesterday to discuss the agenda for the JSC meeting and make recommendations.
